Best MCT oil for Metabolism

Top 1 products ranked

Clinical dose: 5000–15000 mg

How MCT oil supports metabolism

MCT oil plays a supporting role in metabolism. MCTs are fatty acids with 6–12 carbon chains that bypass normal fat digestion and are rapidly absorbed and metabolized by the liver for quick energy or ketone production. C8 (caprylic acid) and C10 (capric acid) are the most bioactive fractions.

Effective dosing

Most evidence supports 5000–15000 mg of mct oil daily. Common supplemental dose is 5–15 g/day (1–3 tablespoons). C8 (caprylic acid) is the most ketogenic fraction. Start low to avoid GI discomfort. Softgel forms typically provide 1–3 g per serving. Products below this range may not deliver meaningful results.

Clinical research

MCT oil has moderate clinical evidence for metabolism benefits. Several trials on energy and ketone production, but most health claims rest on small studies Learn more
