About Nattokinase
Nattokinase is a fibrinolytic enzyme from fermented soybeans (natto). A 2023 meta-analysis of 6 RCTs found significant reductions in systolic BP (-3.45 mmHg) and diastolic BP (-2.32 mmHg). Single-dose studies confirm enhanced fibrinolytic activity via elevated D-dimer. May have anticoagulant effects — caution with blood thinners.
What Nattokinase supports
- May reduce blood pressure based on meta-analysis of 6 RCTs
- Enhances fibrinolytic activity — supports healthy blood clot breakdown
How much Nattokinase to take
The RDA prevents deficiency. The effective range is what clinical trials used to actually move the outcome.
Effective
2000–4000
fu
2,000-4,000 FU/day for cardiovascular support. Meta-analysis of 6 RCTs (546 subjects) showed significant BP reduction at 2,000 FU. Higher doses (10,800 FU) may be needed for lipid effects.
Clinical evidence
Moderate clinical evidence. Meta-analysis of 6 trials (546 subjects) showed significant blood pressure reduction
