What the evidence says

Glucoraphanin-standardized broccoli seed/sprout extract, the precursor to sulforaphane (an Nrf2 antioxidant-pathway activator). Distinct from the pure `sulforaphane` entry: this scores the labeled extract mass.

Surrogate endpoints only; glucose RCT missed primary; extract mass ≠ active dose

About Broccoli Seed/Sprout Extract

Glucoraphanin-standardized broccoli seed/sprout extract, the precursor to sulforaphane (an Nrf2 antioxidant-pathway activator). Distinct from the pure `sulforaphane` entry: this scores the labeled extract mass. Small RCTs show changes in SURROGATE markers only (liver ALT, urinary detox conjugates); a 2025 glucose RCT (n=74) missed its primary fasting-glucose endpoint. Aliases scoped to seed/sprout/branded forms so whole-head/floret/greens 'broccoli' still reads as whole food.

What Broccoli Seed/Sprout Extract supports

How much Broccoli Seed/Sprout Extract to take

The RDA prevents deficiency. The effective range is what clinical trials used to actually move the outcome.

Effective

200600

mg

EXTRACT-mass range (products label extract weight). Trials dose the active (glucoraphanin ~60mg / sulforaphane), NOT extract mass, so mass is a rough proxy — same activity-vs-mass caveat as white_kidney_bean. Raw un-activated extract yields little sulforaphane without myrosinase.

Clinical evidence

Limited clinical evidence. Surrogate endpoints only; glucose RCT missed primary; extract mass ≠ active dose
