Deoxycholic Acid

A secondary bile acid, naturally present in ox bile extract and used in some digestive/lipotropic supplements to support fat digestion. Note: deoxycholic acid is also the active ingredient in an FDA-approved injectable drug (Kybella) for submental fat reduction — that use is unrelated to oral dietary supplementation. As an oral supplement ingredient, standalone human RCT evidence for digestive benefit is very limited.
