About Red Clover
A legume rich in isoflavone phytoestrogens, marketed for menopausal hot flashes. Meta-analyses are mixed, with most rigorous trials showing little to no benefit over placebo for hot flashes. Estrogenic activity warrants caution in hormone-sensitive conditions. May also potentiate anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.
