About Uridine
A pyrimidine nucleoside involved in phospholipid and neuronal membrane synthesis. Promoted as a nootropic, often combined with DHA and choline; human evidence for cognition from uridine alone is limited and largely mechanistic or from combination formulas.
What Uridine supports
- Involved in brain-cell membrane synthesis; standalone cognitive evidence is limited
How much Uridine to take
The RDA prevents deficiency. The effective range is what clinical trials used to actually move the outcome.
Effective
250–1000
mg
Nootropic use suggests ~250-1000 mg/day of uridine monophosphate, but this is extrapolated from small studies and combination products rather than robust monotherapy trials.
Clinical evidence
Limited clinical evidence. Mechanistic and combination-formula data; little standalone RCT support.
