Resveratrol and longevity
Resveratrol plays a supporting role in longevity. Resveratrol is a polyphenol stilbene found in grape skin, red wine, and Japanese knotweed. Trans-resveratrol is the bioactive isomer. In clinical studies, resveratrol activates SIRT1 pathway linked to cellular longevity.
Effective dosing
Most evidence supports 150–500 mg of resveratrol daily. Most RCTs use 150–500 mg/day of trans-resveratrol. Some cardiovascular studies use up to 1000 mg/day. Products below this range may not deliver meaningful results.
What the research says
The clinical evidence for resveratrol in longevity is moderate. Meta-analyses show benefits for blood sugar and blood pressure, but bioavailability is very low (<1%) Learn more
