PepZin GI plays a supporting role in digestion. Zinc-L-carnosine (polaprezinc) is a chelated compound of zinc and L-carnosine that adheres to the gastric lining, delivering both zinc and carnosine directly to the stomach wall. Originally developed in Japan as a prescription gastroprotective agent.
What dose to look for
Clinical studies typically use 37.5–75 mg of pepzin gi. Standard dose is 75 mg/day of zinc-L-carnosine complex (providing ~16 mg elemental zinc and ~59 mg L-carnosine), typically split into two 37.5 mg doses.
