Each tablet of this **SAMe** supplement carries 200mg of active S-adenosylmethionine for mood and stress support, a low per-tablet dose given that the antidepressant research, including a 2024 meta-analysis of 23 trials, used 800 to 1,600mg a day. To reach that studied range you'd need roughly 4 to 8 tablets daily, which is why the label directs 2 tablets one to four times per day. A single 2-tablet serving lands at 400mg, half the effective floor.
The active comes as a stable tosylate disulfate in an enteric coating, which protects fragile SAMe through the stomach. Take it on an empty stomach for the best absorption.
One caution worth knowing: SAMe can trigger mania if you have bipolar disorder, and combined with SSRIs or other antidepressants it raises the risk of serotonin syndrome, so check with a doctor before pairing it with those medications.

On the label
As a dietary supplement, take two tablets one to four times per day with water.
Each of these raises serotonin activity on top of St. John's Wort, and together they can trigger serotonin syndrome — agitation, rapid heartbeat, raised blood pressure. Not without medical supervision.

The score analyzes what's on the label: ingredient doses vs. studied ranges, chemical forms, evidence levels, and known interactions. It does not verify label accuracy or test for contaminants — for that, look for third-party certifications like USP or NSF.
